Hi, I’m Jillian Sanders — a writer, personal essayist, and former New Yorker now happily rooted in Colorado. I write about the twists and turns of love, friendship, family, and the ever-evolving sense of self. I’m currently working on my first book, a collection of essays exploring the meaningful (and often messy) ways we connect, grow, and sometimes come undone. My personal essays have appeared in Oprah Daily, The Today Show, and HuffPost.

In my writing, I’ve explored what it’s like to date someone who seemed perfect on paper but turned out to be all wrong — and what that taught me about trusting myself. I’ve shared the reality of moving home at 30, broke and burnt out, and how it reshaped my understanding of success. I’ve written about my grandparents and the quiet, steady ways their love has shaped my life. I’ve reflected on my relationship with health—how it’s evolved over time, and what it’s taught me about control and self-compassion.
I write to make sense of the experiences that leave a lasting mark.
